Music sessions at Wave

Music plays a big role at Wave and is a popular way for young people to build confidence, express themselves and try something new. Wave has a dedicated recording studio within the building, created with the support from the KFC Foundation Community Program.

The studio was set up by Music Fusion in Havant and includes multi channel recording equipment, along with generously donated musical instruments. The space is available during normal Wave sessions, with dedicated music sessions running on Wednesday afternoons that anyone is welcome to join.

Music sessions are supported by Saul, Wave’s Music Mentor, who helps young people with band practice, recording and developing their skills in a relaxed and encouraging environment. Sessions are open to all abilities, whether someone is completely new to music or already playing and performing.

Safety and Supervision

All Wave sessions are fully supervised by trained staff and volunteers who are experienced in working with young people. Safeguarding is a priority at Wave, and everyone involved has the appropriate DBS checks in place.

We work hard to create a safe, supportive and welcoming environment where young people can feel comfortable, respected and able to be themselves.
